At HealthVerity, community is at the heart of who we are. Each year, our team members come together for HealthVerity Helps Day, a nationwide volunteer event dedicated to giving back to the neighborhoods where we live and work. From Philadelphia to Los Angeles, and even virtually, our teams rolled up their sleeves to fight food insecurity, support seniors, and build stronger communities.
A nationwide impact
In total, HealthVerity team members volunteered at dozens of locations across the country, contributing hundreds of hours of service. Whether preparing meals, sorting donations, stocking shelves, building homes, or connecting with seniors, every activity shared a common goal: strengthening our communities together.
Together, we:
- Had 114 participants (our highest participation rate yet!)
- Raised $1,790 to fight food insecurity, including $1,340 for Philabundance - our largest virtual food drive donation to date
- We reached 16 states and 23 counties (highest again!)
- Supported 25 organizations (another record!)
This year, we’re proud to share the impact of our collective efforts across the country.
Serving meals and stocking shelves
In Philadelphia, team members spent the day at local food banks, kitchens, and warehouses, chopping vegetables, baking, and packing meals for families in need. Others joined warehouse teams to prepare senior food boxes and help with home delivery through DoorDash.
In West Chester, Pennsylvania, volunteers sorted produce and dry goods to stock pantry shelves, while colleagues in Maryland supported the Foodworks Meals Program by packing nutritious meals for kids in after-school programs and summer camps.
Fighting hunger across the U.S.
The spirit of service stretched well beyond our headquarters city. In North Carolina, our team inspected, sorted, and packed donations at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. In Illinois, they prepared food deliveries for Chicago families. In New York, volunteers partnered with City Harvest to rescue unsold produce from the Union Square Greenmarket and deliver it to emergency food programs. In Seattle we harvested vegetables for a local farm to deliver to a local food bank.
In Washington state, our team supported shoppers at a community grocery program, while in Indiana, Vermont, Minnesota, Virginia, and Texas, HealthVerity volunteers restocked pantries, packed USDA food bags, and sorted donations to keep shelves full. From Knoxville’s Beardsley Community Farm to St. Augustine, Florida, where our team helped build affordable housing, HealthVerity employees showed up to make a difference.
Extending our reach virtually
HealthVerity Helps Day also gives team members the chance to contribute from home. Volunteers made phone calls to seniors in Philadelphia to confirm food deliveries, offering both practical support and a friendly voice. Others participated in a virtual food drive, donating funds to combat food insecurity through Philabundance.
We’re proud of our team members generosity and the nationwide reach of HealthVerity Helps Day. By coming together, we were able to make a real, measurable difference!
